Be the Most Brilliant Color
About Me
Welcome to my webpage! I am the middle school language arts teacher and librarian at the Spalding site. Working with middle school students makes me happy, and I look forward to going to school and learning with my students. We strive for excellence and try to challenge ourselves each day. The Riverside Chargers began creating tradition in August of 2014, and our goals are to continue to strive for excellence in and outside of the classroom.
I grew up on a farm close to Geneva, Nebraska and lived there until Tom and I married, then we lived in Fairmont, Nebraska. I received a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln and a master' s degree from the University of Nebraska, Kearney. My husband and I moved to Spalding 6 years ago, where we live on an acreage just outside of town. We have three children and four grandchildren. In my spare time I like to read, play Words with Friends, play Solitaire and Canasta on my iPad, go to the movies, and attend our grandchildren's activities. I like to meet new people and get to know them because everyone has his/her own story. Whenever it is possible, I like to attend musicals at the Lied Performing Arts Center or the Orpheum. The number one thing that I'd like to cross off my bucket list is to travel to Scotland and learn about my heritage.
In 2014-2015, my husband and I hosted an exchange student from Germany, and last year we hosted two students from Switzerland and Italy. We were lucky to have this opportunity.
